Help please. I have a Mac 867 MHZ power BOOK G4 with 640 RAM. The revious user put OSX and it is doing well. I have the restore disc tried to boot from cd but the mac says the it use the "open architecture" tried to boot from no good.
Ay thoughts, suggestions or should give it to good will?

In Finder it says: You can't open the "Apple Software" because the Classic environment is no longer supported.

It is Mountain Lion


I think it should tiger

Yes but it seems is not using the cpu correctly

I apologize for the delay.

Correct Mountain Lion won't be able to boot a machine that old. You will need 10.4 (tiger) or 10.5 (leopard) I'd recommend Tiger but either will work. You can get these on ebay or apple might still give them to you.

Another alternative is to put linux on it if you wanted to experiment. Here are links for that
