JACUSTOMER-t5tsto0d- :

How do you reset pram and smc?

ErnestAgyare :

Resetting NVRAM / PRAM

  1. Shut down your Mac.

  2. Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.

  3. Turn on the computer.

  4. Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys before the gray screen appears.

  5. Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.

  6. Release the keys.

JACUSTOMER-t5tsto0d- :

OK, I see 6 steps. How can I get back to you if the fix fauls?

ErnestAgyare :

please simply log back in i will be on standby...DO NOT RATE...untill your issue is solved

ErnestAgyare :

you also need to delete the preferences for system preferences, they're in:
mac hd> users> your username> library> preferences>delete file: com.apple.systempreferences.plist

JACUSTOMER-t5tsto0d- :

OK, but how do I log back in and contact you"

ErnestAgyare :

the same way you contacted me before the box will be open

ErnestAgyare :

also please look at this software which may help as well

ErnestAgyare :

im trying to give you all the options i have before you do a system restore with utility cd

JACUSTOMER-t5tsto0d- :

Sorry, your answer is not clear. I do not have a record if how I started the contact.

ErnestAgyare :

please log back in to justanswer.com

ErnestAgyare :

JACUSTOMER-t5tsto0d- :

JACUSTOMER-t5tsto0d- :

JACUSTOMER-t5tsto0d- :

ErnestAgyare :

it is simply not possible sir? according to the manufacturer apple...https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3975936?start=0&tstart=0....this is the link proving it....please by all means let me know if you want another expert....but i am here with 3 experts saying the same thing apple is saying

JACUSTOMER-t5tsto0d- :

Tried suggestion again.

JACUSTOMER-t5tsto0d- :

Solution does not work, Same problem remains

ErnestAgyare :

you will need to utility cd to reboot your system

JACUSTOMER-t5tsto0d- :

utility cd disk long gone,

ErnestAgyare :

you need that to restore it...it seems that you will need to reload you operating

JACUSTOMER-t5tsto0d- :

Can I download from Apple if you supply URL

ErnestAgyare :

no you will need the actual cd because you will need to boot it from the start of you computer

ErnestAgyare :

when you download it ...it will not be available at the beginning of your start up...cd only

JACUSTOMER-t5tsto0d- :

In that case, I will upgrade system to v. 10.8 mountain lion. I do not believe I shoild pay, as you did not solve problem. The system upgrade is less expensive than the expert advice (which did not work)

ErnestAgyare :

well you issue can be solve only one way which i provided you...you may visit the apple store which will tell you the same...so i indeed did identify your issue and give you a solution. Which is what we are here for...we can either troubleshoot and if the issue is beyond us..we can pin point the issue and tell you the remedy....which i did...

ErnestAgyare :

so if you dont want to RATE ME for my assistance i am completely fine with that ...no problem

JACUSTOMER-t5tsto0d- :

I will be happy to rate you as OK, but again, the charge is not worth the advice. I could have carried out an upgrade without your expert advice.

ErnestAgyare :

an ok rating is fine with me

ErnestAgyare :

is there anything i can assist you with before you rate me

JACUSTOMER-t5tsto0d- :

I already sent in my rating. Was it received?

ErnestAgyare :

i dont know i cant see it im more concerned with helping
