Hi, I will assist,

I'm sorry about the computer issue. Please try holding down the Option key while emptying the Trash. If that does not work, go to Finder menu, and see if you can do “Secure Empty Trash.”

If that still does not work, please download/install the Trash It! application and see if it can empty the trash:

Please let me know if there is still any issue. Thank you

Hi
done both options and didn't work
downloaded app but it seems to freeze / not respond after a few minutes ... any other thoughts?
Thanks,
Maud
I'm sorry, have you tried to shutdown the computer, then disconnect the power cord from the computer for a few minutes, then reconnect, and try the app again?

If that does not work, can you go to Applications folder, then Utilities folder , then open Terminal app, then type exactly the following:

sudo rm -rf ~/.Trash

, then press the Enter key, and check.

Please let me know if there is still any issue. Thank you
