Click on the list and click Edit SMTP list
Now on the top do you see smtp.mail.yahoo.com?

Do you see Use default ports?
and Use SSL?
yes, default is selected, 25, 465, 587, SSL is selected Authentication is by password
User name is XXXXX XXXXX address
Please select Use custome port
Uncheck Use SSL
Authentication = password
make sure to enter your Email and password.
do I have to reboot Mail for the changes to take place?
Please click OK.
Then close Mail Preferences.
Open Mail and click Get Mail
then try to send or reply an email.
See if it will work
Do I need to keep the SSL unchecked?
Do I need to keep the custom port at 25?
Yes Keep custom port 25 and UNCHECK SSL
What does SSL do?

I can tell you that your email settings are correct.
I'm connected, I see that Mail Activity says I'm sending emails., but I also see in my Outbox 2 emails that I am trying to send with a spinning gear in the Sent lind
Please go to Outbox
and delete those two emails first
Then try to send an email.
Does it send?
