I downloaded adobe reader on my MacBook Air. Every time I try to open a pdf document, the screen is black, and I am asked to launch adobe reader (which I already did).

I am Vinod. I will try my best to help you resolve this issue?

Can you please give me the exact error message?

Also, which browser is causing you this issue? Firefox, Safari etc

Thank you

It pops up quickly and is something like -- before you can review this document you must accept with the end-user agreement and launch adobe reader.

The pop up doesn't happen every time--some times (like now) I just get a black screen where the pdf should be.

But when I downloaded I DID accept.

Thank you.

I need to know one more info. What version of mac are you using?

To find this, just click on the apple logo at the top left corner and then on "about this mac".
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

Mac OS X

Version 10.7.5

Thank you.

Let's try this first.

Close safari. Now, on your mac, go to /Library/Internet Plug-Ins

There, trash all files related to PDF. For example, PDF Browser Plugin.plugin, AdobePDFViewer.plugin etc

Now open safari and check whether your issue is resolved.
