Import to iphoto
Can see photos on camera
Canon Digital IXUS 100IS
Have run through the tutorial. Never had a problem before and followed all the procedures mentioned.
Have nasty feeling I have never used iphoto before, just followed my normal procedure. Sorry to mislead you, but I am a dummy as far as computers are concerned. Normally I plug in the camera and click on transfer untransferred images and then just pick up the pictures from image browser. However now something called image capture has appeared in the dock. When I click on this nothing happens. When I click on camera window nothing happens. When I click on image browser a box appears and I have a feeling I was irritated that I clicked on Canon Image Gateway and then clicked download my camera contents. Hope this confuses you less than it does me.
I now need to be away from my computer for half an hour.
No error message at all but see other reply about iphoto 4.3.13 at 11.24 your time. My canon machine is definitely mentioned somewhere when pictures appear. When I ask for all images all pictures did come up previously now no pictures appear in the normal fashion but the newest ones I was trying to download do not appear, but are luckily still on the camera.
Are you still working on this or do I go somewhere else to find a solution?
I click on image browser. Double click Macintosh HD. Click today. Click Camera Window DC and message reads window cannot be opened. But click on Camera Window and nothing happens.
Are you still working on this problem or do I need to get advice from elsewhere.
have tried with iphoto and absolutely nothing happens when you click on the icon.
Absolutely nothing happens. I opened Library-Image Capture-Devices and draged the folder to the desktop. Image capture would not open. I have the camera turned on and plugged into computer.
message has just popped up saying
failed to open a session on the device
Disk Repair will list any files that don’t match the expected permission structure. It will also attempt to change the permissions for those files back to the expected state. Not all permissions can be changed, so you should expect some files to always show up as having different permissions than expected.
Now try to open image capture and let me know the result.

I have no idea which keys to push to find users library/preferences. It is also getting very late here in France therefore if you can give me the dummies version of finding users library/preference etc I will try it tomorrow. Thanks for your help.
Got there in the end but there is definitely no listing for com.apple.ImageCaptureApp.plist
There are all sorts for cannon.ic installer, image browser etc
A message appeared which said application camera window failed to quit and is not responsive.
I have no idea how to test Office applications or try installing/reinstalling office.
I am now going to bed as it is very late. We will have to continue tomorrow.
Things have changed by the time I logged in this morning. I plugged in the camera and the message box said no images to transfer but all the pictures appeared as little boxes - the heading on top of the pictures says Camera Window DC. It appears that the computer is trying to scan these pictures but tried to scan them to documents and then this round multicoloured thing appeared on the screen and I have not been able to get rid of it to do anything with the pictures. Any idea what to do now.
There is a large box headed image capture and below it flashing is a smaller message box saying
Trying to open scanner session. But the round coloured ball still flashes over the pictures and I cannot exit the pictures to clear the screen.
Do you have any printer or scanner connected ? If so disconnect it and try again. If it not helps, please create a new test user as on my previous suggestion. Then open image capture from that user account and let me know the result.
I need to go now but will be back soon.RegardsJins
Hello Sir, you need not worry. Create the user Test, then login as that test user. Now check the image capture. Then logoff the test user (apple button > log out or press Cmd+Shift+Q to log out)and login as the old user. RegardsJins
At last the computer has done the right thing. All pictures are now downloaded into the correct document.
Hi Jacquelin, Happy to hear it is working now. Please give my answer a positive feedback. Then only I will get paid for my time and efforts. A good bonus will make me more happy...RegardsJins
