Hi, my name is David, and I will do whatever I possibly can to help answer your questions.

Is there wavy lines in the source video, in Final Cut Pro, or only when played from DVD?

Sincerely,
David.

In Final cut Pro when viewing and when put on another monitor

Hi,

Is it footage from a camera? What camera? Does it look wavy on the camera viewfinder if played back on the camera?

Sincerely,
David.
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

The camera is a Sony handicam HD, the footage only gets the lines when in final cut pro not on a camera playback.

Expert:  David replied 4 years ago.
Hi,

Then when capturing the footage you should try other settings.

Do you use Final Cut Pro to capture the footage from the camera, or do you use another means?

Sincerely,
David.

I have been using copy file to computer into a folder

Expert:  David replied 4 years ago.
Hi,

Does that mean you just use a Finder window, then drag and drop into Final Cut Pro.

Or do you put them in another folder, the go to Final Cut Pro and choose File Import?

Sincerely,
David.
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

I put it into a folder then import file.

Hi,

You mention the viewer showing wavy lines, what about when you put a clip on the timeline? Is the clip wavy in the canvas too?

Sincerely,
David.
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

No just the camera footage

Customer: replied 4 years ago.

No just camera footage

Expert:  David replied 4 years ago.
Hi,

Well then it should also be OK when you export, have you tried export some timeline yet?

Sincerely,
David.
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

Yes

Expert:  David replied 4 years ago.
Hi,

So the only place it looks OK is in the Canvas?

Have you tried changing output settings?

Please try using QuickTime conversion rather than regular output, see here for more:

Let me know how it goes.

Sincerely,
David.

Hi Landon,

I am just following up to see how things went. Did the export function work properly with your footage?

Feel free to ask any other follow up questions, or let me know if you still need help on this one.

Yours sincerely,
David.
