Hello and thanks for using justanswer.com

What OS are you running? ie. 10.5.6 or 10.7.2

If you click on the Apple icon in the top left and choose about this mac. It will tell you the version number.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.

I'm running 10.5.8.

Expert:  Tom replied 1 year ago.
Please repair permissions:

Click on the picture of a face all the way on the left-hand side of your dock.
Click Go all the way at the Top and Choose Utilities
Open Disk Utility
Select your startup disk on the left of the Disk Utility window
Select First Aid from the tabs
Click the "Repair Disk Permissions" button

Lets delete the preference file.

Click on the picture of a face all the way on the left-hand side of your dock. Click on Go at the very top and Choose Home

This will bring up your home folder. Go into a folder called Library and then another folder called Preferences. Delete the file called com.apple.iWork.Pages.plist

Let me know if you still have issues

Customer: replied 1 year ago.

Tom,

My Mac is a 10.5.8. I sent this info to you earlier. I'm not quite sure I get your system.

Connie

Customer: replied 1 year ago.

Tom,

When I open Disk Utility, I can't find the startup disc on the left.

Connie

Expert:  Tom replied 1 year ago.
What do you see on the left-hand side?

On mine it says, 500GB ST9500420A and under that it says Macintosh HD. My start up drive would be the Macintosh HD

Customer: replied 1 year ago.

Tom,

I finally figured out the "Repair Disk Permissions" and completed that part. I also deleted the file called com.apple.iWork.Pages.plist. Do you think the problem will be solved?

Hello Connie,

Great. That will fix the issue. The only other solution if the first two didn't help would be to re-install iWork. Let me know if you still have any issues

So it's great to have an expert to rely on when the computer decides to stump me. God bless, Bill Bill M. Schenectady, New York
