Hi Ross, Thank you for the info. Is this a new issue ? Are you able to use it with your system before ?

Press windows logo key and R key on your system. You will get open the Run command window. Type devmgmt.msc in the run command box and press Enter. You will get open the device manager window. Can you see any yellow colored ? or ! marks or red colored X marks there ?

I have had this Ipod and one other on this computer before with no issues, along with 3 iphones. I recently updated to newest version itunes, and in the process my library got messed up. I have restored that the Just answer help. Now only have the phone back ups listed under devices, and no ipods.


I opened device manager and saw no marks.


 


I am on a PC with Vista, and am planning to move to a new PC w/ windows 8

Hi Ross, Thank you for the prompt reply. First of all try the steps in the iPod Troubleshooting Assistant which applies to your iPod; this will often solve many ipod issues.

If it not helps, please try placing the iPod into disk mode to see if it is recognized by iTunes or Windows Explorer. If your iPod appears in iTunes when in disk mode, restore the iPod.
