Resolved Question:

"Your request is prohibited because it would cause a cycle."
my yahoo account was compromised and address book hacked.
it was temporarily shut down and unable to send email messages.

i am now able to work with yahoo again after 4 days.
in the meantime, every time i open "safari" i am now met
with the new error: Your request is prohibited because it would cause a cycle.

could you help?

hi, yes. it appears when i open safari, not firefox.

actually when i think about it. i type yahoo into address box then yahoo page comes up. i think at some point i set it up so yahoo appears.

no i do not get same message at your link.

just to clariy, this problem began when i got hacked. i click on safari on my dock, a blank white page opens with the error message in black bold at top. i then type yahoo in address box then i get to yahoo with no issue.

hi steve. you put me on right track. went into my safari system preferences.i updated the link.

i can now open safari from my dock and go straight to yahoo page. error message gone. thank you so much. it solved my issue.
