Hi, How can I downgrade Safari web browser 6 back to 5, using lion OS X. I would prefer to stick with version 5 until further changes occur on future versions. I need to get to version five if possible, without loosing all my saved preferences and settings on the actual version.

On your MAC open Terminal then copy and paste the three lines of text:

sudo rm -rf /Applications/

sudo rm -rf /System/Library/StagedFrameworks/Safari

sudo rm -rf /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Safari.framework

Do it one at a time, pressing enter. After the first you will be prompted for your administrators password. Enter it, but note that you won't see anything on the screen as you do. Then copy and paste the next two lines one after the other.

Then go here to download the safari installer
