Hi, my name is XXXXX XXXXX I will do whatever I possibly can to help answer your questions.

First try creating a blank test library.

Hold down the Alt button on the keyboard, and then launch iPhoto.

Keep holding Alt until the window appears, and click Create New.

Save it in Pictures as 'iPhoto Library test'.

Does iPhoto open?

i pressed alt and iphoto icon however, i cannot perform any function. if i try to click on anything on the iphoto window the screen closes. i can see all the pics but cannot click on anything.

Hi,

restart you Mac.

Then try launching iPhoto with Alt key pressed all the time.

So hold the Alt key, launch iPhoto, and don't let it go until you can choose 'Create New'.

same thing happened. when i press alt then iphoto screen with all pics appear with blue haze surrounding the screen. this is all occurred after my daughter imported pics from her ipod. however but iphoto opens with other users

Hi,

OK, next we can try Trashing preferences.

Quit all applications. Click Finder, then click Go menu.

Click go To Folder, and type ~/Library/Preferences/ and click Go.

Look for any files beginning com.apple.iphoto and move them to the Trash.

Now restart the Mac and try iPhoto.

Quit iPhoto, and hold Alt and open it again.

Now select the iPhoto Library file in your Pictures folder.
