Appleologist :

Hi, and welcome to JustAnswer! My name is XXXXX XXXXX I am excited to get started with you.

Appleologist :

If you are running 10.7 and higher, keynote saves automatically.

Appleologist :

What operating system are you running?

Customer:

Hi. I have Keynote 09 version 5.1.1 (1034)

Appleologist :

Ok Can you click on the apple logo in the upper left corner and choose about the mac. What is the version number?

Customer:

Sorry. Mac OS X Version 10.6.8

Appleologist :

Its ok. Are you able to open Keynote to see it there was a recovery screen?

Customer:

Not sure how I would do that. I can open keynote and find an older version of what I was working on but don't know how to look for a recovery screen

Appleologist :

When you click on open and choose recent, do you see the document you were working on?

Customer:

No, it isn't there

Appleologist :

Im sorry for the bad news but there is not auto save feature with iWork 09. Only with the new version. Did you also have the document using icloud?

Customer:

No.

Appleologist :

Im sorry about your presentation, but you will not be able to retrieve the current version you lost. Unless it was backup to time machine or icloud. Im sorry and I hope this does not inconvenience you too much

Customer:

Thank you very much for your help.

Appleologist :

No Problem. Best of luck
