Hello! My name is XXXXX XXXXX self-employed tech, and I'm offering my time in good faith today to provide advice and information.Have you only downloaded Mountain Lion but not yet installed it?
finished installing it but the old version is still running. how do i know? not sure but if i swipe it using 4 fingers i can see windows 7,mountain lion and the other. or maybe im wrong. how do i check it?
The download should only install over top of the previous version in normal situations. If you click the Apple logo in the menubar and choose "About This Mac", it should report Version 10.8 in all cases.
yes! all 10.8 so no need to un install the old version.
No problem. What do you do with the computer mainly?
As of now Im into Excel. Not good but i have all the time i need. so far not letting myself go ahead to macros and programming. But hoping is there a faster way to learn. Spend a lot add ins, books etc. I think im a visual type of guy. or maybe can you suggest better programming cause since im young and retired. I was thinking to have a small business to help other company to have programs in there business. here Where i live. Not much. Excel is afforadable. So its easier for me to teach or try to educate the importance in data, reports and other important business details,
Thanks.Honestly, if you have the new MacBook with Retina display then it is probably more than enough for your needs at this point so I'd rather not suggest you spend money on something that may not be directly beneficial to you.The notebook is more than capable of handling the latest versions of MS Office (Excel, Word, etc...) and probably most anything else that you might throw at it.If you have any other Apple devices (such as an iPhone or iPad) you may want to make sure you are taking advantage of iCloud for storage and syncing.Hopefully, this info will answer your question. If you continue to have questions on this topic, just reply back to this discussion. I will be more than happy to work with you further.
