Customer Question

I have a MacBook Pro 5.1 that I have used at work and for research, and at home for the last 4 years. The hard drive got full, so I backed everything up, and have deleted all the movies, all the documents, and all but 37 GB of music. And yet, the available capacity only shows 70.86.

Where could the files be hiding? I really need this cleaned out so I can use video capture software for my research.

Do you have an icon on the Desktop called "Macintosh HD"?

Customer: replied 4 years ago.
No, I have CRL00319 that denotes the hard drive.
Expert:  John T. F. replied 4 years ago.
Okay, that works too.

Right-click or Control-click on the hard drive icon and choose Get Info.
