Jesse :

Hello, and welcome to JustAnswer.com!

My name is XXXXX, XXX I'm here to help.

Jesse :

That error typically means you're trying to install the 64 bit version of iTunes, but your computer only supports 32 bit software. You'll want to go back to the iTunes download page, and make sure that, if you're given the option, you're downloading the 32 bit version.

Customer :

Great, this is the exact message that I get:

'policy.8.0.Microsoft.VC80.CRT,type="win32-policy", version="8.0.50727.6195",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",processorArchitectur e="x86"'. please refer to Help and Support for mor information. HRESULT: 0x.

Customer :

Same thing?

Customer :

What is there is not a 32 bit version?

Jesse :

If there's not a 32 bit version let me know for sure.

Jesse :

If you don't see one, do the following:

Jesse :

Try following the instructions here for removing and reinstalling everything related to iTunes on your computer.

Customer :

Same result

Customer :

Trying a 32 bit version

Jesse :

Okay.

Customer :

Cant run the 32bit version

Customer :

Tells me to get the 64 bit version as I am running a 64 bit version of Windows

Jesse :

Okay, then try the other process I recommended, the following:

Jesse :

Try following the instructions here for removing and reinstalling everything related to iTunes on your computer.

Customer :

I tried that but it didn

Customer :

t help unfortunately

Jesse :

Did you remove not only iTunes but all the other things listed in the link I posted?

Customer :

Jep, the Bonjour, Common files, itunes and so forth

Jesse :

Okay, and after removing you restarted, then reinstalled from the download, correct?

Customer :

Didnt restart, will try that, but will I not lose the chat with you?

Jesse :

You will, but you can make a bookmark to our conversation or follow the link in your email to get back. Also, make sure you follow the uninstall instructions again before restarting, just to be sure.

Customer :

Ok

Customer :

Doesnt work

Jesse : Okay, I'll opt out so another expert can assist.

It didn't solve the problem, so if another expert has a different solution that would be great.

Hi my name is David.

The problem could be with the Windows installer, so you should try updating Windows through Windows Update here:

windowsupdate.microsoft.com

Please get back to me if that doesn't work.

Regards,
David.
