When I connecdt my new Macbook Air to my Samsung SyncMasgter 170N via adapter cable from Apple, I get a "no connection" message. I have restarted the computer and monitor. What can I di?

Hi my name is David.

When you have connected the display, go to the Apple menu and shut down. Then reset PRAM.

To reset PRAM press the power button and immediately press these four keys:
Apple Key
Alt Key
P Key
R Key

Hold those keys, and wait for a second startup chime. If the MacBook Air doesn't give two startup chimes then try those steps again.

Once started after PRAM reset the display should be detected. If not open System Preferences -> Displays from the Apple menu. Then click the 'Detect Displays' button in the bottom right.

Please get back to me if it fails.

David, the solution works! Thanks. I cannot find an "accept" button, but consider this my acceptance. Neither Apple nor Samsung thought to zap the PRAM. Nor did I.
That's great, very glad I could help!
Have a good day!
