I am having difficulty using a virgin e-mail account with an i-pad and btinternet isp.
Seems to work fine then stops for no reason - re-entering account seems to restart it randomly but it is a real nuisance.

1. Make sure you've enabled IMAP in your main Virgin Media Mail settings.

IMAP provides a better method to access your mail from multiple devices. If you check your email at work, on your mobile phone, and again at home, IMAP ensures that new mail is accessible from any device at any given time.

You can retrieve your Virgin Media Mail messages with a client or device that supports IMAP, like Microsoft Outlook or Windows Mail.
To enable IMAP in your Virgin Media Mail account:
Sign in to your Virgin Media Mail account.


1. Click Settings at the top of any Virgin Media Mail page.
2. Click Forwarding and POP/IMAP.
3. Select Enable IMAP.
4. Configure your IMAP client and click Save Changes.

Changing your password XXXXX My VM login . Change the password XXXXX comply with:



  • 6-10 characters

  • start with a letter

  • contain at least one digit

  • letters/numbers only

If sending mail is OK on your account , then the smtp details you used before are ok .

Note: Simply changing the email password XXXXX also help even if it already is within parameters.

Note once more If sending email works fine , those details dont need to be updated .
