Hello and welcome to JustAnswer. I look forward to assisting you today with your question and providing the best answer possible.

Please press and hold both the Power button and the Home button together for at least 10 seconds, until the Apple logo appears, then wait a bit, then check.

But since the iPad got wet, it's a hardware issue. Yes, it can be fixed. You can bring the iPad to an Apple store; likely the iPad screen needs to be replaced:

Please let me know if you have any further question. Thank you.

Thank you, but that made no difference - the apple sign disappears after a few seconds. Some functions worked yesterday after the damp got in, but now no functions are working. What can be done?

  • Connect the iPad to your computer with the USB Cable.
  • Open iTunes program on your computer (make sure you iTunes program is up to date.)
  • On the iPad, press and hold the Home button and the Power button at the same time.
  • After about 10 seconds release the Power button, but continue holding the Home button until the iTunes program shows that it has detected an iPad in recovery mode.
  • Click OK or Restore.

But I'm sorry, obviously, this is a hardware issue, so you would need to have the Apple store repair the iPad:

Thank you.

Drying out the ipad has helped - tho it will need a new screen. Most functions have returned - but crucially, not the internet . Any suggestions, please?

Please go to Settings, General, Reset, Reset network settings. Then reconnect to your wi-fi/wireless and check.

If needed, make sure to reset the iPad:

  • Connect the iPad to your computer with the USB Cable.
  • Open iTunes program on your computer (make sure you iTunes program is up to date.)
  • On the iPad, press and hold the Home button and the Power button at the same time.
  • After about 10 seconds release the Power button, but continue holding the Home button until the iTunes program shows that it has detected an iPad in recovery mode.
  • Click OK or Restore.

Otherwise, the damp has damaged the wireless hardware chip on the iPad. Thank you.
