I have an iphone and did have an itunes account. It was linked

I have an iphone and did have an itunes account. It was linked to my work PC and work email address. There was a problem at work and I lost all my music at the time but never set it back up again. I have since changed job and no longer use either that PC or that email address.

I am happy to start again with a new itunes account but I have a feeling that the old details will still be live and I won't be able to do this because I'm using the same iphone and my bank details will be the same.

What can I do?

You may want to check your password XXXXX typing in to a sticky note , or text edit / pages document if possible so you can see the characters typed , check the keyboard characters are the same as your known password??

Also check the USB keyboard on a second computer to check all keys are working as expected .
