Just ungraded my iMac to Lion - - - somehow in the process my Keychain login got changed - - - I'm the Admin - - - but I can't hardly do anything - - - every time it asks for Keychain password, I enter it - - - and the box just shakes - - - and I can't proceed - - - can't use the installation DVD trick to make a new password XXXXX - - Lion has no DVD - - - it was downloaded - - - have Time Machine running - - - can the password XXXXX system thinks it wants be gotten from that somehow - - -

Do you have your Apple ID associated with your user account on your iMac?
Please, follow the instructions below to reset your admin password:- Turn the iMac off and back on- Hold down the Option button when you turn it on- Choose the "Recovery" disk at the menu displayed- In the top menu bar, click Utilities > Terminal- In the terminal box, type: resetpassword - Press the Enter key on the keyboard- Choose the user account that you wish to reset the password XXX.- Change the password XX your choice of new password.Reboot normally.

Jason - - - Got a new login keychain - - - with one entry - - - seems to work OK with new password XXXXX - - but lost the 50 or so entries that were in the old login keychain that's gone now - - - Oh, yes - - - what's Apple Persistent State Encryption - - - it's the one entry in the new login keychain - - - Duncan - - - any way to recover the entries from the old/gone keychain - - - me

Jason - - - Oh, well - - - that damned list needed a good housecleaning - - - just so happens that in anticipation of such a cleaning, I printed up the list of all 68 entries that were in the old login keychain - - - no passwords of course - - - but that's a start - - - my wife's a Jones from Indianola, Mississippi - - - just so happens I've an old problem/challenge - - - two weird entries in the side bar of the Finder window - - - between Pictures and Applications - - - when I get my mail and some of the rest restore, in a week or so, I'll give you a jingle - - - and let you give a try to removing those two errant entries - - - if you try to drag em, they move but just pop back - - - you can move them up/down in the list - - - Cordially, Duncan - - - thanks or the help - - - it was worth the $58 - - - mesend me in email how to get you again - - - thanks again - - - me
