Customer Question

I have a new Ipad 3. I made an e-mail mistake when setting it up. I put this e-mail XXXXX@XXXXXX.XXX it should of XXXXXXX@XXXXXX.XXX. I can't get rid of the first one. I set up the second one and it was verified. Everytime I go to the app store and try to buy it brings up the old one. How do I get rid of it?

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer. I look forward to assisting you today with your question and providing the best answer possible.

Please go to Settings, Store, and select the apple ID account and sign out, then sign back in the correct account.

If needed, go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and remove the wrong account if it's there.

If that does not work, since this is a new iPad, you can just reset it:

  • Connect the iPad to your computer with the USB Cable.
  • Open iTunes program on your computer (make sure you iTunes program is up to date: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/)
  • On the iPad, press and hold the Home button and the Power button at the same time.
  • After about 10 seconds release the Power button, but continue holding the Home button until the iTunes program shows that it has detected an iPad in recovery mode.
  • Click OK or Restore.

Please let me know if there is still any issue. Thank you.

Remember, if for any reason you are unsatisfied with my answer, we can continue the conversation until you’re satisfied and Accept my answer. I can address follow up questions at no extra charge and I’m always here to help. Thank you for using JustAnswer!
