Greetings,Welcome to Just Answer. My name is Jason and I will be the expert working with you today to help resolve your problem.Who is your e-mail provider (Yahoo, Gmail, AOL, etc)?
AOL
and I have 2 accounts with godaddy.com
I think the godaddy is called "workspace".
Jason, did I lose you ?
I am here.
I am sorry for the connection issue.
There was a problem with the chatroom, but I am back.
Welcome back.
Thank you
It seems that you have a unique setup.May I please, remote into your computer so that I can better help you resolve this problem?
Please do.
Thank you.
Thank you. Please, click the following link and allow the remote app to run: http://67.192.95.188:8040/?Session=9138dd6d-207d-4e52-9186-959150ad2367&SUPPORT=NET
Trying option 2 since option 1 is taking so long.
Thankyou.
Still nothing.
Okay.
Lets try a different one.
Please, click the following NEW link and allow it to run: http://67.192.95.188:8040/?Session=66a228df-5664-4f6d-a214-2927dd5c5e08&SUPPORT=OSX
Still nothing. A popup says no active session found.
I just double-checked and it is working.
Please, try again.
Says "joining your session" and the world keeps spinning.
Okay, for some reason, the remote session is having issues with your computer.
We will have to do this the old-fashioned way.
Which program do you use to access your email (Outlook, Mac Mail, Entourage, Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc)?
Mac Mail
Okay, please, bring up the properties for the email account.
What is listed for the incoming and outgoing mail servers?
Incoming: imap.secureserver.net
Outgoing:
What is the outgoing server?
smtpout.secureserver.net
For the Outgoing (Smtp) server is is configured to authenticate?
Let me ck.
Authentication should be enabled and setup to use the same settings as your incoming mail server.
Also, the outgoing (smtp) port should be set to port number 80
Authenticate says "none".
Okay, there is the problem.
Please, the option that indicates to use the same settings as the incoming mail server.
OK. Changed it. Let me try and send.
No. Not sending.
What message does it give you when you attempt to send?
I think we have to do this remotely.
We can try the remote option again.
ok
Thank you. Please, click the following link and allow the remote app to run: http://67.192.95.188:8040/?Session=63bc1001-bb83-4456-8f0e-144c3467b4fc&SUPPORT=OSX
Clicked and waiting again. "Joining" and spinning.
Okay, let's wait for that to join.
should SSL be checked ?
yes
Still spinning.
By the way. It was port 993.
I changed it to port 80 but still didnt send.
What should imap path prefix be and should that be port 80 also ?
Do not touch that.
That part of your account is working.
Unselect SSL and change the port to 25 for the outgoing servedr, please.
Once that is complete, try sending again.
If that does not work, change the port back to port 80 and try again.
OK I'll do it now.
Well well. I have no idea what we did. Seems like we just put everything back like it was before and it sent two practice emails. But the second practice emails did not go through. 'Send' just keeps spinning and mail stays in 'outbox'.
Please, remove the email from the outbox and send yourself a test email.
The AOL sends. The other two mailboxes do not.
Are the other two accounts with Godaddy?
Yes.
The AOL sends to AOL.
The others do not send still.
Did you change the outgoing server settings for both of the godaddy accounts?
Yes. Repeat to me and I will double check.
Port 80
SSL Enabled
OK.
Port 80. SSL enabled. Let me send a practice one again.
imap server rejecting my password
unbelievable.
That is curious, since we did not change anything with the IMAP server.
correct. same password. nothing has changed.
Still port 993, SSL, authenticate with password.
imap path prefix is empty.
Earlier, you stated that the outgoing was 993.
Yes. Still there. imap prefix is empty.
Please, verify that the incoming has SSL ENABLED and is port 993
Also verify that the outgoing has SSL enabled with port 465
OK Verified.
Please, send a test email.
Email address ?
What are you asking me?
Oh. I thought you meant send a test email to you.
I will send a test to me.
Sorry.
Please, send a test email to yourself.
So, like, you are obviously a genius right ?
Your question confuses me.
HA !
All three mailboxes send now.
I have no idea what you did or what you made me do here.
"Genius", meaning that I have a superior IQ or that I work at an Apple store?
But it worked.
Oh
ha
Very nice
Thank you, Jason.
Thank you for your time.
Yes. You have a superior IQ that only an Apple employee would have.
I realize that this took a whole lot longer than expected. I appreciate you sticking it out with me.
