What really happens when you connect to the WiFi from Settings > WiFi ? Are you getting any errors ?

When I put my password in, it says it is invaild.

You can reset the Network Settings of the iPad. In your iPad, tap Settings > tap General. In General, scroll down and tap Reset. In Reset, tap Reset Network Settings and reset the settings. Then Turn off the iPad and turn it back on. Now try to connect it to the WiFi.

No, iy is the same one the Mac is set up with. I have Century Link. Do I need to call Century Link to make sure mu password is correct?

You don't have to send any more money nor you have to pay If I couldn't solve your problem. Can you try connecting your iPad to different wireless network ? This will tell whether the problem is with your iPad or with your router.

You could try your friend's wifi or neighbour's wifi or Public wifi (which don't have password) like Startbuck's wifi
