Hello my mum was working on a numbers document on a mac, and she accidentally deleted some text, saving the document afterwards. Please help me recover the original version...
Computer OS: Mac OS Classic
I can't seem to get back to the version she deleted, this being a numbers doc (an unfamiliar to me programme) doesn't help! ;-(
Hello and welcome to JustAnswer. I look forward to assisting you today with your question and providing the best answer possible. Does your mum have and use time machine on her mac?
Hello and thank you. Mum was using my Mac Book Pro to translate a document in the numbers programme. I've got the time machine in the mac, but it says "a storage location for Time Machine backups isn't set up". So I suppose setting it up now is a bit late?
Yes. it woudl be a bit late now.. Yest still, a great idea to prevent things like this from happening in the future I suppose. We may not have any options left, but before thats certain.. I need to know what version of mac osx that she has loaded on the macbook. 10.5 10.6 10.7 ?
Sorry, will I find this info in "about this mac"?
Yes, you can find it there. By clicking apple, then about this mac!
Thanks.. I was hoping you had lion, which includes a archived document feature.. Im afraid, without time machine, and without lion.. Once that document was saved over, theres nothing we can do to recover the older version. Im sorry , and i'm aware this isnt what you wanted to hear.. I wish I could help you recover the document but it simply isnt possible.Remember, if for any reason you are unsatisfied with my answer, we can continue the conversation until you’re satisfied and Accept my answer.
