for http://bit.ly/JamesJustAnswer: i want to know why whenever i hit new tab and when i start up my firefox and chrome browsers, keep getting redirected to this address: http://search.anchorfree.net/ i dont like it
also, when i go onto aol using amazoxy.info, i get this message: The requested resource could not be loaded because the server returned an error:
  418 unused (?).

Ok lets start with Firefox.

1. Shut down firefox.

2. Press and hold option when you relaunch firefox and check the bottom 2 boxes an choose Make Changes and Restart.

Chrome

1. Open a finder window, navigate to the top and select "Go" then "Go to folder" and then copy and paste this file path

~/Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome/Default

2. Delete all the files inside , empty trash and relaunch Chrome

PC Reset Instructions

Firefox

1. Hit windows start button go to your programs folder find your Mozilla Firefox folder and click it.

2. It will give you an option to run Firefox in Safe Mode, choose that

3. Check all the boxes except the top one and choose "Make Changes and Restart"

Chrome

1. Locate this folder and delete all its contents

For Windows XP
C:Documents and SettingsUserNameLocal SettingsApplication DataGoogleChromeUser Data


For Windows Vista or later
C:UsersUserNameAppDataLocalGoogleChromeApplicationUser Data

IE 9.0

1. Open Internet Explorer.

2. Click the Tools menu (gear icon), and then click Internet Options.

3. Click the Advanced tab, and then click Reset.

4. Click Reset again.

5. Click Close.

It doesn't give me the safe mode option when i go into mozilla firefox.
When i started firefox it originally was the google homepage that popped up and then a popup came up and i choose the option to disable google tracking and now the new tab button always returns anchor free, the creator of hotspot shield, this urel: (http://search.anchorfree.net/)

Firefox

1. Open Firefox

2. Choose Preferences

3. Click the "General" tab

4.Choose "Restore to Default"

You Home page settings are now blank and you can enter in your desired home page.

Safari

1. Open Safari

2. Choose Preferences

3. On the "General" Tab you will see current home page. Remove whats in there. You can leave it blank or enter something

4. Then close by clicking on the red button on the top left of the window

Chrome

1. Launch Chrome

2. Choose Preferences

3. Under Basics

4. Choose "Open this Page" remove the contents. Set it to what you wish.

You should no longer be getting directed to that site anymore.

my problem is perplexing -- in chrome, i go to "open this page" and set it to http://www.google.ca/ and i still keep getting the redirected to anchor free's search utility website at http://search.anchorfree.net/

i still need this strange and persistent problem to be fixed. please help me.

We can create a new network location and then follow the steps of the rest of browsers after. I have seen this issue before and it took me some time with the computer right in front of me. Follow these instructions below. Afterwards do the browser reset of home page



1. Go to the Airport Icon on the top right corner




























2. Choose "Open Network Preferences"





3. Click on the arrow to the right of automatic choose "Edit Locations"





4. Choose the (+) sign on the bottom left corner of that window. Name this location anything you like, then choose done, and then "Apply".



5. Locate your network , enter router password.



Then attempt to do the previous step i gave you
