Hi, I'll be happy to help with this issue
So, can I use Facetime on Windows 7. My friends us iChat. I can join them in a chat room, but can only type while they are able to talk and see each other.
There isn't a Facetime app available for Windows - Apple haven't made the protocols available to other developers yet
there may be some 3rd party solutions though
Is there some other method that we can all use?
Skype would be the logical choice
as they have Mac/Windows clients
and video/audio works across both
I downloaded Skype, but it is not clear that I can do more than 2-way conversations without paying a large fee,
if you are doing computer to computer with Skype then it would be free
I think for personal use there is a limit of how many people can be connected with video at any one time thought
hence their business plans
how many people would be in chat at any time?
So, if we're all on our computers, then Skype can be used by 3 parties together without incurring additional costs to any of us?
yes, if all on computers then Skype conference call would be free
Thank you so much. I'll see if the others have Skype or are willing to get it.
Bye for now.
if Skype isn't going to provide the solution then you can use AIM and iChat but there are some configuration steps needed first
