We have around 8 folks working on the cloud...we dont need

Customer Question

We have around 8 folks working on the cloud...we don't need a server anymore as far as I'm concerned. I just need laptops with second screen capabilities...and/or a simple/fast/clean tower at each station, again allowing 2nd screens with sound.

I don't need much storage at tower...everything stores and works at host.

We do share some printers via the server...but it seems that most problems stem from there. I'm assuming that I could allow folks some printer sharing via wifi?

Any ideas re hardware...again, mainly looking at either laptop or tower replacements - of existing towers. I'd like to spend less than 500 bucks...unless I go to Mac/Apple towers?

I'd love to connect much faster...I know that apple/mac have some initial issues with some cloud apps that we use...

Can you let me know which Cloud apps you are using? You have 8 people currently accessing e-mail/files etc which are in the cloud and they just need to be able to print to a common printer?

Are they all currently Windows etc?

Cheers

we all have printers..but on some jobs, we'd like to go to common..we should be able to handle that part...the other parts of my question are more important.

trouble free....quick booting, quick online access towers..with little local storage...or lap tops with 2nd screen capabilities

I've seen chrome books, but not sure if those would be it....

Ok, depending on the setup you have and the print requirements a wireless printer would do the job and this would remove need for seperate print servers etc.

Almost all laptops have second screen capabilities (I'm assuming you mean either a VGA or DVI output here) so the emphasis would be on trouble free, quick booting, quick online access?

Are there any specific applications required? If not, Chromebooks could be a good option - bear in mind that some Chromebooks require optional dongles to give the second screen output though.

Cheers
