I synced my iPhone to my computer but when I disconnect my music is no longer on the computer. It only shows when my iPhone is connected. HELP, PLEASE!! IT IS LATE! THANK YOU!

MrComputer2010 :

With out your device connected open iTunes:
Select Edit
Select Preferences
Check - Disable Automatic Syncing for iPhones and iPods
Next connect your device
Once the device icon appears right click the icon
Select Transfer Purchases
After it has transferred all purchases I recommend backing up your device
You should be able to sync all music, aps, etc.

Unfortunately, with the way that things are set up with Apple you will only be able to initially save your iTunes/Apple purchased songs to the new computer. Any outside songs (from CDs etc) will not sync. Hopefully you have a back up of any non purchased songs.

Customer:

No, I tried to explain that in my original message. I have only purchased one song. The rest were on a CD which I no longer have and this did not help me at all.

Customer:

It is not a new computer. It is a computer that was restored after it crashed and the retrieval disks did not include the iTunes already on the computer so you are saying I have lost them all unless my phone is connected.

MrComputer2010 :

ok try this app.. http://www.getsharepod.com/

MrComputer2010 :

it is free and will allow you to copy your music from your iphone

Customer:

Are u sure because it is very late here and I need to get to bed

MrComputer2010 :

yes i am sure.

MrComputer2010 :

here are the instructions for how to use it also.. http://www.getsharepod.com/help/copying.aspx

Customer:

And how long will it take. I do not want to do it tonight. I have been wrestling with this for hours.

MrComputer2010 :

itunes wont let you bring in the non purchased music into your itunes but this third party app will

MrComputer2010 :

it all depends on how much music you have.

Customer:

Several hundred songs

MrComputer2010 :

i wouldnt imagine it would take very long

Customer:

I know it is not your fault, but this really, really stinks. And, I certainly cannot give Apple an A for this type of thing. MONEY, MONEY, MONEY!!

MrComputer2010 :

Yeah its them wanting to fight copywright and keep making that money in the itunes store

Customer:

Can I wait until tomorrow when I have tried this before I click accept?

MrComputer2010 :

No worries.. it will work. You can click accept and still come back tomorrow and ask any follow up questions.

Customer:

Are you in CA? Saying: "No worries".

MrComputer2010 :

I am actually in Indiana.. lol

Customer:

Well, I'm not in CA but our daughter lives there and everyone out there says it all the time. I will click accept. Thank you.

MrComputer2010 :

ok have a good night

Customer:
