Whenever I click on something, I keep getting pop-ups that I don't want on my mac. How do I get rid of them?

Hello, my name is Dan.
I will do my best to help you, the only stupid question is the unasked one.

Can you describe the popups?
What do they look like?
Which version of OS X do you have?
Are you the only user?
Do you have a cat, I know, it sounds funny but you would be surprised.

Customer: replied 4 years ago.
They are things that don't make sense or I have no use for.

mac mini 10.3 snow leopard

no pets at all
Expert:  Daniel replied 4 years ago.
Snow Leopard is 10.6.x, 10.3 is Panther.
Look in the Apple menu in 'About this Mac'.

Your description tells me very little, I cannot see them so I need you to tell me how they appear.
Customer: replied 4 years ago.
I don't know how to describe them any further. Never mind, but thanks!
