My Mac Book Pro wont turn on at all. It last worked yesterday

Resolved Question:

My Mac Book Pro won't turn on at all. It last worked yesterday and showed I had 10 hours of battery than it just turned completly off. No sound no lights nothing. The battery indicator on the side shows fully charged when pushed. What could be the problem?

Hi there.

Toby K. :

  1. Plug in the power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.

  2. On the keyboard, press the (left side) Shift, Control, and Option keys and the Power button at the same time.

  3. Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.

  4. Press the power button to turn on the computer.

    Note
    : The LED on the MagSafe power adapter may change states or temporarily turn off when you reset the SMC.

I'm assuming this is a newer Mac since you mentioned the battery meter on the side.

I bought it in 09'

Customer:

I tried the above and nothing.

it just went out all of the sudden huh

Yup.

and you haven't installed any memory modules or anything?

Toby K. :

what I had you do was reset the system management controller

Customer:

It went out yesterday and I thought it was the battery. I charged it up for about 30 minutes and it turned on but when I unplugged it went dead again

Customer:

No installing of anything.

but it doesnt turn on, right?

Customer:

Right. It's dead.

I'm going to recommend you schedule a service appointment with an Apple Retail Store or an Apple Authorized Service Provider. If you plan to visit an Apple Retail store, make a reservation at the Genius Bar using http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/.

there really isn't much that be done remotely for something like this
