Hypothetical problem: I would like to add the content of Column A with that of Column B and Have the total in Column C. Can that be accomplished with EXCEL?

Are the values in column A and B numbers or text. If they are numbers do you want to add them arithmetically?

The values are numbers. And, yes, i want to add them arithmetically.

Ok assuming the data starts in row 2, type this formula in cell C2

 

=A2+B2

 

Next select cells C2 through C100 (or the last row of data), and press Ctrl + D to copy the formula down to the last cell in C
