Hi, and thanks for using JustAnswer.

Add this page to your Favorites/Bookmarks first, so as to get back to me anytime later on, if needed.

Did you get iTunes installed?

If so, open iTunes and connect the iPad to the computer with the USB cable.

Follow the setup procedure until complete.

Let me know how that goes.

I've got all that ... and on 'settings' it tells me now that WiFi is not connected so I can't do anything that requires internet. How do I connect the ipad to the internet?
Expert:  Mac Tech replied 5 years ago.
If your iPad is not 3G or cellular, then you either have to tether it or use WiFi.

Ok - but how do I get WiFi? I went through all the installation processes from itunes - including apple password XXXXX but don't know how to find out how I connect this ti WiFi so I can access email, itunes store etc - on the WiFi networks page it says WiFi is 'on', but 'not connected'

First, you have to be in an area that is offering WiFi.

Are you in an area now that has WiFi?

If so, click on this link and use this WiFi assistant:
