What do you see on the screen now?
Customer: replied 5 years ago.

It says " your iphone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable".

Expert:  James replied 5 years ago.
Try to take the phone outside -you may be in a weak signal area.
Then try activating again.

The phone needs to be able to contact a cellular tower for activation.

I tried what you said, but the same thing still showed up.

Expert:  James replied 5 years ago.
Try a tethered activation. Connect the phone to your computer, and run iTunes. Let me know what happens.
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
I tried it & it says there is no Sim card installed in the iPhone you are attempting To activate.
Expert:  James replied 5 years ago.
Ah, so there's your you're problem right there. go down to a local AT&T store and have the sim card replaced. There is a known issue with a bad batch of sim cards. They will replace it for free.
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
But i tried the Sim card in my old phone and it works perfectly.
Expert:  James replied 5 years ago.
The problem happens only with iPhones for some reason. You need to take it to an AT&T store.
