OSXpert :

Hi, my name is Britton. are you available?

OSXpert :

Let me know when you're available, I have a good solution for you using Google Calendar

Customer:

I am available.

OSXpert :

Okay great, have you heard of Google Calendar?

Customer:

No, I haven't.

OSXpert :

okay, essentially, you set up an account with Google (free) and use their calendar service to sync the calendar appointments to your phone as well as ANY computer with internet acces (not just your Mac)

OSXpert :

from the computer, you access your calendar at calendar.google.com

Customer:

OK. There is no charge for that service?

OSXpert :

nope -- totally free, and it works fantastically

OSXpert :

start by going to calendar.google.com

OSXpert :

Create a new Google account (upper-right corner)

Customer:

OK.

Customer:

Is there anything else I should know?

OSXpert :

create a new account (fill out the fields for your name, login, etc...)

By creating the calendar account, you will also get other services like email and such

OSXpert :

We'll need to set up your phone to sync correctly with your google account...let me get you the instructions, one second

Customer:

Sounds simple enough. Thanks.

Customer:

Thanks.

OSXpert :

sure thing...one second...before we wrap up

OSXpert :

here you go...

OSXpert :

when you get to the last screen in the instructions, you can choose to enable Mail, Contacts and Calendars

OSXpert :

If you only want to enable Calendars, disable the other two

OSXpert :

If you'd like, you can use your google account to get email as well as manage your contacts. All of this data is stored in the "cloud" (Google's servers), so, if your home computer or your phone are damaged, your data is always safely stored on secure servers

OSXpert :

Does this information answer your question and meet your needs?

Customer:

That sounds like a great solution. Thanks so much.
