OSXpert :

Hi, my name is Britton. Are you available?

Customer:

yes.

Customer:

yes

OSXpert :

great, let's try a hard reset

OSXpert :

hold the power button down for 5-10 seconds. This will FORCE your laptop to power down and will thus cause it to come out of sleep mode. Whichever applications you had open will be closed and the computer will reset

OSXpert :

Are you still available?

Customer:

tryed already. No go.

OSXpert :

how long did you hold the power button for?

OSXpert :

it needs to be fully held for at least 5 seconds

Customer:

held for 10 and more seconds

OSXpert :

okay, let's pull the battery then. Turn the laptop over and remove the battery, leave it removed for 1 minute, then replace it and power your system on.

OSXpert :

are you still available?

Customer:

battery new. remove for minute and replaced. no go.

OSXpert :

what happens when you press the power button? Please describe for me exactly what's happening. From your description, it sounds like your system was in sleep mode (should have an LED light on front near the latch that slowly blinks). However, now it sounds like it's not powering on at all. The more detail the better, it helps me help you.

Customer:

press and holding button no go. no blinking light on front.

OSXpert :

is your laptop power adapter plugged into both the laptop and a power outlet?

Customer:

yes

OSXpert :

You'll need to take your laptop to your nearest Apple Store or a Mac technician to be evaluated for a power switch or power supply. either way, your laptop is exhibiting symptoms of one (or both) of these pieces of of hardware as failing

Customer:

ok, thanks
