Hello! I have all my contacts in MobileMe -- and on my iPhone,

Customer Question

Hello!
I have all my contacts in MobileMe -- and on my iPhone, and have two questions:

1) I want to transfer my MobileMe Contacts to Google Contacts. Can you please help with that?

2) Then -- going forward, on an ongoing basis -- I want the Google Contacts to be synced with my iPhone. Can you please help with that?

Plug the iPhone into the computer and then select it under Devices in iTunes go to Info tab and there you should be able to put in your Google info to sync. Let me know if you need more help.

Mike -

Thanks for the tip, but it did not work, unfortunately.

Is there another way (to get them synced)?

Plus, I'd like to retain the MobileMe Folders and have them replicated in Google Contacts (same folders).

Appreciate any insight you can lend,

Kevin

What do you mean it did not work? What happens when you do that?
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
It says it is syncing, but when I go to find them in Google Contacts -- they are not there. Would they be in a different location?

Expert:  Mike replied 5 years ago.
So you go to gmail.com and sign in to the same account and your contacts are not there?
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
Correct

As a work-around, I actually downloaded a .vcf file from MobileMe, and then uploaded to Google Contacts.

So, they are all there now -- but, not in the Folders that I've established at MobileMe.

Any thoughts as to how to:
1) Get the MobileMe folders over there?
2) Have them continually synced?

Thanks for any info you can provide, Mike!

No folders will not sync only contacts
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
I can manually set up the Folders in Google Contacts, right?

Then, how do I sync them up in a real-time basis?
Expert:  Mike replied 5 years ago.
Hard to tell if it is working since you did it manually. Add a contact and then see if it syncs
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
It does NOT appear to be syncing.

Can we do something in the phone's settings to make this happen?
Expert:  Mike replied 5 years ago.
When you go to the Info tab in iTunes does it say you are syncing over the air:

Yes -- the verbiage at the bottom is consistent with your image sent; so, I'm trying it again

If it looks like mine then sync in iTunes is turned off because you are syncing from the phone, try this:

thanks -- tried that link yesterday, and it didn't work either

yes -- I want to sync from the phone

I'll just go to the Apple Store and ask them, I guess
