My ipod is acting as if it is locked even though it isn't. It does not respond to any button presses and stays stuck on the same screen even if I attach it to my computer via USB. My computer detects it but my iTunes does not. It has not been damaged and was working fine less than an hour ago. Is there anything I can do to solve this problem?

Greetings,Which model of iPod are you having this problem with?
Hi, sorry for the delayed response it is an ipod classic
Thank you for the update.
One moment, please.
Does your version of iPod have a click wheel, scroll wheel, touch wheel or something else on the front panel?
it has a wheel, not sure what kind but its menu at the top, play/pause on the bottom, a center button and back and forward buttons on the side. Rotating it goes up and down the menu and controls the volume
Thank you
- Turn the Hold switch on, then off.- Press and hold the Play/Pause button and the Menu button at the same time.Hold that down until the screen changes and you see the Apple logo.
That will reset the iPod and force to to reboot.
how long should the buttons be held?
the screen is still locked
ok
It should only take about 8 seconds.
Please, plug in the iPod into it's power adapter and plug it into the wall.Once it is plugged in, please try to reset it once more.
If that still does not work, press and hold the CENTER button and the MENU button at the same time until you see it reset.
okay the center button option worked
Fantastic!
