I have an excel for mac spreadsheet I just made. It appears

I have an excel for mac spreadsheet I just made. It appears to have over one million horizontal cells although I am only using 85 or so. I cannot seem to delete the unused cells and as such my computer is running slow

Hi,

Go to the first empty row after the 85 rows, then select all the rows from that row down to the very last row of the spreadsheet, delete these rows then use Save As to save the file. Close the workbook then when you open it again it should reset to the correct rows

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions, and thank you for clicking Accept if you are satisfied with the solution

I tried that (see "already tried") -- I am pretty sure that I have an infinity of rows: I highlighted a number of columns (at the top) to change their color and one column to add a formula -- it just goes on forever now

Please send me the file so I can try to fix it. To do so go to http://www.wikisend.com/ and upload the file then copy the "File ID" that you will be given and paste it here in your reply.

If the file has sensitive information let me know before you upload it

Sorry for the late reply -- I needed dinner.

Yes, the endless formula columns are now gone and the file is of manageable size; just wish I knew what you did.

Glad it worked. No need to tip I am happy with my share of the accept and the feedback

What I did is exactly what I told you you should do in the my in first answer. Select all the rows below the last data row and delete them then save the file
