First, be sure that you have the latest version of iTunes installed (http://www.itunes.com). After you have installed / updated to the latest iTunes, reboot your computer.
Upon reboot, attach your iPod and see if it shows up in iTunes in the left column.If
it still doesn't show up, please do the following:
Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs
Uninstall the following, in this order, if applicable:iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
MobileMe Control Panel
Apple Application Support
Reboot your PC.
Now, go to this link (http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download/standard
), download, and install CCleaner
Once you have installed CCleaner, run it, go to the Registry
tab, click Scan for Issues
, once they are complete, click Fix Issues
, and then Fix Issues
Now go to (http://www.itunes.com
) and reinstall iTunes.
Once downloaded, install. The reboot once more.
Once you have rebooted, try to connect and see if you have the same issue.
