Sorry, but your suggestion that, to cure the absence of a microphone in my Mac Dictate profile, that I go to mac hd and then to users/user name/library/ preferences etc and then reboot problem didn't work. I'm using a Logitech USB headset.Cold that be a problem? I use another USB Logitech headset for Rosetta Stone and have not problem.Any more advice, please? John Spencer

What is the model of the headset that does not work ?

Firstly you can try this .

iteachmac :

Plug in the headset to the USB port of the Mac , Go to the Apple menu , System preferences , Sound preference pane , and select Logitech USB Headset etc input and output tabs as required.

once completed , close the panel .

Then launch your application and test the headset .
