Color doesn't matter. Okay..To connect your Macbook to your TV, you have to buy the Mini-DVI to VGA Adapter : http://store.apple.com/us/product/M9320G/A

(You also have to buy a Normal VGA Cable to connect between the Adaptor and TV, you can buy it from any local shops and it is cheap)

Then connect your Macbook to your TV with it. Your Macbook will recognize your TV. You can change the settings from Apple > System Preferences > Displays.

At first when you connect both, your Mac will detect your TV as Extended Display of your Macbook. If you want to view the entire screen (of your Mac) on your TV then you can just activate the 'Mirror Displays' option. Goto System Prefernces > Displays, click on the Arrangement tab and acitvate "Mirror Displays".
