Yes, there is a solution. Do you have the Mac OS X installation discs came with your Mac ?

I have some discs, but I don't think that's one of them. I have one called Iris Readiris Pro 9, one called Mac OS X Tiger, one called hp LaserJet, & one called Canon CanoScan Setup ver. 1.03. That's all I found. I moved and lost a lot of stuff or threw it away.

Mac OS X Tiger is the one you need. You can reset your Password XXXXX that disc.
  • Insert the Mac OS X Tiger Disc 1 to your Mac
  • Turn off your Mac
  • Turn it back on and immediately hold down the C key on your Keyboard.
  • This should boot your Mac directly into Mac OS X installation screen
  • Choose your Language and click Next button.
  • Choose Reset Password from the Utilities menu
  • Select your Mac OS X hard disk volume.Select the user name of your administrator account
  • Enter a new password XXXXX Click Save.
  • Restart your Mac

I had a lot of trouble opening this e-mail to reply to you. It kept asking for "keychain" password, which I apparently don't have. I hit cancel a few times and it finally let me in. I hope that's normal. Anyway, I want to thank you very, very much, because I was able to download the new software that Mac kept asking about. I just hope I know how to navigate around, because it keeps asking for stuff. I think you're a wonderful technician, a veritable genius. I was amazed. So far, so good ...

It says OS X, 10.4.11 and then some other info like 1 Gtlz & 1 GB & stuff.

  1. Goto Applications/Utilities and open Keychain Access
  2. From the Keychain Access menu, choose Preferences.
  3. Click Reset My Keychain, which is under the General pane.
  4. Authenticate with your user account password.
  5. Quit Keychain Access and Restart your computer.

Let me know if that didn't worked...No need to Accept again.
