We can try to delete the preferences of Firefox and see if that helps or not.

Close Firefox if it is opened, goto Macintosh HD/Users/[username]/Library/Preferences/ and move this file into desktop.

org.mozilla.firefox.plist

PS : Removing Preferences will also delete your Firefox's saved username and passwords, history, cookies etc. It won't affect saved bookmarks. Let me know if that didn't worked..

Best Regards,
Ashik

If I close firefox how do I access Macintosh HD . . . ?
Expert:  Ashik replied 6 years ago.
You don't need Firefox to access Macintosh HD. Macintosh HD is your hard disk. It may have another name like Mac HD, My HD etc
Customer: replied 6 years ago.
OK - I have the file org.mozilla.firefox.plist on my desktop - what's next?

Open Firefox, are you still getting the error ?
Customer: replied 6 years ago.
Yes I am
Expert:  Ashik replied 6 years ago.
I think the problem is caused by some plugin that is not compatible with Firefox 4. Open Firefox, click on Tools menu and select Add Ons. In Add On, select Extensions or Plugins in left column and how many active plugins can you see in there ?
Customer: replied 6 years ago.
ten

Could you please give their names ?
Customer: replied 6 years ago.
version 1.1.2
fly 4 mac
iphoto
java plug-in 2 for Npapi
msft office
picasa
quick time
real player
shockwave flash
silverlight
Expert:  Ashik replied 6 years ago.
One (or 1+) of them is causing the problem. Disable fl4mac plugin and restart Firefox. If that didn't worked, then disable msft office plugin and restart Firefox. If that didn't worked, then disable and try each one of them.
Customer: replied 6 years ago.
I disabled them all, one at a time, & the problem has not been solved.

Thats strange. Goto Macintosh HD/Library/Internet Plugins and move all plugins to desktop from there. Restart Firefox. Does that worked ?
