My calls are going straight to voice mail and I cannot dial a number out.

OSXpert :

Hi, my name is Britton. Is this an iPhone?

JACUSTOMER-0od9bot0- :

yes

OSXpert :

Good deal, have you tried doing a soft reset yet?

JACUSTOMER-0od9bot0- :

no... how do I do that?

OSXpert :

Hold the home (round button, bottom) and the sleep/wake button (rectangular, upper-right corner) until you see an Apple logo on the screen.

OSXpert :

After holding the buttons for a few seconds, you will be prompted to turn off the phone -- ignore this prompt and continue holding the buttons until you see the Apple logo

JACUSTOMER-0od9bot0- :

I get an apple logo (bite out of the apple) but it goes no further.

JACUSTOMER-0od9bot0- :

now I have my apps screen available

OSXpert :

Okay, try to make a call

JACUSTOMER-0od9bot0- :

ok can get a call... trying to make a call now

OSXpert :

JACUSTOMER-0od9bot0- :

ok seems to be working now. thanks

OSXpert :

sure thing, do you have any other questions for me?

JACUSTOMER-0od9bot0- :

when I called my wireless carrier they mentioned in a preemptive msg something about an update for apple do you know what they were talking about?

OSXpert :

There may be an update available for your phone. To find out, start iTunes on your computer, then plug your iPhone into your computer using the USB cable. Click the icon for your iPhone toward the left-hand side of the iTunes window. If an update is available, you will be prompted to update your phone.

JACUSTOMER-0od9bot0- :

thanks...bye
