i am transferring files from an older mac book pro with a shot

Resolved Question:

i am transferring files from an older mac book pro with a shot logic board. We can still see the files and have hard drive up on new mac book pro using firewire/target disc mode, can see all files when I click on HD icon on desk top.

How to i transfer files,photos, itunes etc to new mac?

Regardless, I would transfer only the User... That will move all your photo's, iTunes and Documents...
