Hi, I am here to assist you.
thank you for choosing JA for your Mac Support needs.
So what type of Audio books are you trying to upload?
Is it Audible or MP3 or MP4?
i had gotten 3 free audiobooks from emusic, and no matter what i do it just adds to the musicfile instead of the book file
im not sure if they are mp3 or mp4
What are their file types.
they say mp3 format sound
OK. good to know.
Do they populate in iTunes?
when i add them to itunes they go into the music file with each chapter seperate
Or have you tried to add them to iTunes?
i have tried to add them to itunes, but the only place they will go is into the music file. it will not let me move them into the books
So you need to create a folder or choose to sync those files to you iPod Touch.
i have tried to create a folder with them in and it still goes to the music file when i sync it
what kind of folder do i need to create to have the books go into the book section
Hold on looking at that now...
i will be right back
ok. sorry about that im a diabetic and i was starting to have a low blood sugar
Oh, I would LOVE to have those. I am Diabetic also.
Mine is lower now though.
Now to the issue.
i have been since about 2003. just started on insulin this year and with the pills it really brings me down to much
You cannot select the files and copy them to the folders.
Oh boy, bottoming out is not good.
to which folders
Hold on a moment....
From the main menu under File select Add File To Library to add one, or maybe a few MP3s or select Add Folder To Library to add all the MP3s in a folder.
it added it to the music file
OK. Did you Sync it to the iPod Touch yet?
ok doing that now
ok sync is done now what
Check the device.
Is the Audio there Sir or Ma'am?
ok what audio is on the device, but it is still in the music files
OK. Now, since the files were purchased as MP3's. They will remain MP3's unless you convert them to another format.
Is that what you wish to do?
ok. how do i do that
Do you want to convert them and to what format?
im not sure. what format would be best to convert them to
is that the standard for books
Well, there is not a real need to convert them at all.
They are in that format for your convience.
Converting them would add more work for you?
but if i keep them in mp3 then when i shuffle songs i run the risk of going thru the book tracks
But if you waa=nt to convert them to another format you can use:
To AAC then
how hard is the conversion on whatever format i use then
ok. lets try it then
This is the fastest way using iTunes to do it.
You can choose several options, you just select the one that is best for you.
okwill there be a way to tell which one is the converted one
Yes, the file will appear with the same name but with a new extension
Cool, is it not?
ok. will i be able to move the new file. it is very cool.
Well, you are able to get great Audio quality from these conversion.
I LOVE Macs in the Morning.
great. im getting ready to have a spine surgery and the audiobooks helps pass the time from therapy and rehab. last time i have to try books on cd....didnt work to well
all computers stink sometines
That is good to hear.
LOL.... they may stink but they do not fight or argue.
Yes, the Digital formats are so much better.
most of the time they dont argue, but we still like to drop kick them on a daily basis
I know what you mean.
If my solution has resolved your issue please Accept my Answer. ;o)
