I have Entourage and Comcast. Just set up my Entourage with a new account and it works fine everywhere else except at home (when I use Comcast). I cannot receive emails, and I cannot send either.

BeBoo :

Just to clarify, you are able to send/receive emails fine in Entourage when you are anywhere but at home. Is this correct?

Customer:

That is correct. I can actually send, but it doesn't show up sent.

BeBoo :

Interesting. Sounds like something is weird with your DNS. Are you at home now?

Customer:

Yes. At home now...

Customer:

FYI...

Customer:

addres [email protected]

Customer:

luminoideas.com is hosted at Rackspace. I own the URL.

BeBoo :

Sorry, the email address is hidden for security purposes. Is your email address at luminoideas.com?

Customer:

yes

BeBoo :

Let me look up your email settings real quick. Be right with you.

Customer:

OK.

BeBoo :

Sorry for the delay. Can you please open up Entourage, use the Tools menu and choose Account Settings?

BeBoo :

In the window that appears, open your account.

BeBoo :

Can you please tell me what you have for POP Server and SMTP Server?

Customer:

IMAP Server: imap.emailsrvr.com

Customer:

SMTP Server: imap.emailsrvr.com

BeBoo :

Ok, under the IMAP server, can you please click the button for Advanced Receiving Options and let me know what is checked and set in this little window?

Customer:

Yep. Standby

Customer:

only one check is...

Customer:

SMTP require authentication.

Customer:

Use same settings as receiving email servers (sub-bullet)

BeBoo :

That is under Advanced Sending Options. Above that button there should be a similar button for Advanced Receiving Options.

Customer:

Nothing is checked

BeBoo :

Let's try something.

Customer:

ok

BeBoo :

One sec, just referencing my Entourage

BeBoo :

Try checking the box that this server requires a secure connection (SSL) and check the box to override the port and put in 993

BeBoo :

Save these settings, use the Tools menu and choose Send/Receive

Customer:

Ok...trying to test, but it didn't want to keep the 993...the box keeps getting unchecked after I check it. I am going to try to send email from gmail to luminoideas.com

Customer:

cool...it works. It does say encrypted but not secure...

Customer:

but it works

BeBoo :

Should be secure as that is the SSL port

Customer:

OK. thanks. have a good night.
