Using Eudora version 8.0b9 on a MacBook Pro and it suddenly

Resolved Question:

Using Eudora version 8.0b9 on a MacBook Pro and it suddenly stopped being able to send mail. I didn't change any settings, it just won't send now. I am successfully getting mail.

Any suggestions?

Error says: Sending of message failed.
Please verify that your Mail & Newsgroups account settings are correct and try again.

Customer:

Didn't change settings. Also, just found out that my business partner received an email message from yahoo saying they had some suspicious activity in our account and we wouldn't be able to get or send mail for up to 48 hours. I'm still getting mail, but I'm unable to send. Naturally, I'll call them tomorrow to find out what's going on.

Customer:

Haven't sent a lot of email or anything like that, so now I want to know if there's anything funky or dangerous about this. Why would someone try to mess up an email account?

Customer:

Any suggestions beyond talking with yahoo appreciated, especially if this might be some kind of scam or something. I just can't think of any reason someone would want to mess with a regular old email account.

Sorry, I stepped away. Do you have a Yahoo! Plus account with them? Can you try to log into your webmail at http://mail.yahoo.com/ and see if you are able to login and/or send a test message from within webmail?

OK, yes, it looks like everything's fine when I go to the yahoo mail page and send or read email. So it's my machine.

I also suddenly got funny-lookiing squares instead of letters on a webpage or two, so I'm going to restart my whole machine and see what happens then....
