Is there anyway I can get those songs restored to my laptop.

You'll need to contact iTunes support to resolve the issue. To do so, visit the iTunes Support Site, select the Music Purchases category from the list on the left, and the Lost or missing items sub-category. You should then see an Email Us button.

Send them a message describing your situation, and they'll authorize you to redownload the songs at no charge.

I went to itunes support. Can not find music purchases category on left or email button. You have to give me more instructions. Thank you.

On that page, look for the Get Customer Service heading. Down that list, you'll see the Music Purchases category I described. Follow my instructions from there.
